Dear Host Family, My name is Celina and I'm a student from Poland. I live in a small town close to Warsaw with my family: mom, dad and an older brother. We have a cat and a dog, so we are a family of 6. My grandparents and cousins live in the same town so we often spend time together with the family. My father has his own company and is working in neighbouring town. My mother also runs her own company but she works from home so she spends lots of time with me and my brother. Every day my mom try to have a dinner with all of us together and talk. We often cook together or walk with the dog. This year I started the high school. It is a very small school a few kilometres from my home so I go there by bike every day. I really like this school and the new friends I met there. Also the teachers are great. My favourite school subject is math but I also like chemistry and biology very much. After school I spend lots of time with my cat. It is a black cat called Chrupek. I love him a lot. I also like sports, reading books and meeting with my friends. My favourite sport for the summer time is surfing. I also like roller skating and riding a bike. In the winter time we go with my father for hockey and every year we go to the mountains for a week of snowboard. Anyway, the best time for me is when I'm volunteering. In my previous school I did a lot of charity volunteering and I really hope to do something in my new school as well. I like helping animals and people in need. I even arranged one action for homeless cats just on my own. I am a very positive and happy person. I'm always open for new friendships and new opportunities. I like to do many things in one time so usually people say that I'm in several places in one time. And of course I love animals! Even if I'm still a young person, I'm responsible and usually act mature in different situations. Going to USA and going to school there has been my dream for a few years already. I think that USA is the country I would like to live when I'm grown up. So, as I have a chance to spend a year in a school abroad, I have chosen US without any doubts. I can not wait to live a normal life of an american kid going to high school. I hope I will be able to try different subjects in school which we do not have in Poland. And I also hope, of course, to practice my english. Also the culture of USA is very interesting for me. I really want to experience the american holidays like Thanksgiving or Christmas. That is why I'm very happy I will have a chance to live with a real american family in a typical american home. I can not wait to take part in the preparations for holidays as I love cooking cakes and all other kitchen work. I'm also great in organisation of receptions so I hope I will be helpful and will be able to learn a lot. If there will be a possibility, I hope I will have a chance to see some other parts of USA. My dream is of course New York or California, but I know that the less known places can surprise and result beautiful and interesting. So I'm open for any possibilities.
