Dear Host Family, My name is Uyen. It is a pleasure for me to write this letter. I am very excited to introduce myself, my family, and the reasons why I want to join this program. I come from a family of five members: my parents, my two younger brothers, and me. My parents play a very important role in my life. They always stay by my side, support me, and encourage me to move forward. I love them so much, and I truly appreciate everything they have done for my life and our family. Besides, I am quite close to my younger brothers. Sometimes, I play the role of a mother to them. I take care of them, give them tasks to do, and keep an eye on them. In our family, we usually spend time with each other, such as planting trees and flowers in our garden. After that, we cook and have lunch together. Personally, I really enjoy cooking. I am looking forward to cooking for you in the future, as it is a way for me to share my culture with you and also learn from your culture. Moreover, my family likes volunteer work and charity. Recently, we organized a small charity activity for people in need. We bought meals and shared them with each person. It is not something huge, but it reflects our kindness and willingness to share. That is also one of the things I am very proud of about my family. We are not very rich, but we are always ready to share. As for my hobbies, I really like swimming. I have to say that it was hard for me at first, but then I tried and tried to overcome the difficulties. Now it is one of my hobbies on weekends or in my free time. Another hobby that requires time, patience, and creativity is crochet. I often spend hours and hours for it. Last but not least, I would like to join this program because I think it is a good opportunity for me to improve my English, learn about American culture, and understand how people live there. I also want to make international friends, experience a new school environment, and challenge myself. I believe this program will help me build a strong foundation for my future academic path.
