Dear host family,
Thank you for being willing to participate in the exchange program and allow me to live with your family.
I am a French boy and I am currently in my sophomore high school. I love to discover new culture and new traditions including the American one. I traveled to New York 1 year ago and i loved it. Even before this trip i was fascinated by the United states, and I want to see how American people really lives.
I live with my mother and my step-dad since 6 years in a small town however my dad and my sister live 620 miles away from me. I see them once per month minimum and half times during holidays. My mom work in a restaurant so i'm often alone when I eat.
I love playing sports like soccer, basketball or golf. I am very outgoing and i love to listen to music. In France there aren't so many opportunities to do school clubs so i'm looking forward to discover the American school clubs.
I think in France the more important things are gastronomy which i love to make you discover some local dishes. I would love to make you discover some french tradition like "chandeleur" which is a party where we eat a lot of "crêpes". I have Polish and german origins because of my grand parents so I love the Christmas time.
When I saw friends or just young people doing an exchange year and saying that it was the best experiences of their life in knew i wanted to do one.
And you may ask why the U.S, since I was young i see movies or series which take place in the U.S so since my childhood I am a fan of the U.S. Then when i grew up I started watching basketball and in France it isn't as big as in the U.S ,so for 4/5 years now , i watched many many games of the NBA and that accentuated my fascination with the US.
Warm regards,
Stanislas
