Dear Host Family, My name is Pierre-Henri, and I am very excited to write to you! I am really looking forward to meeting you and discovering your country, your culture, and your daily life. I have always dreamed of going to the United States. So thank you so much for giving me this chance! First of all, I would like to tell you more about myself. I live with my parents, my mother, Eloïse, who works at the fire department; my father, Bruno, who is a sales representative for agricultural and handling equipment; and my twin sisters, who are 22 years old and currently students. I am a friendly, open-minded, responsible, and cheerful person. I think this comes from growing up in a happy and loving family, where my parents have always taught me the values of respect and living well together. This contributes a lot to my well-being. The only moments when I’m not so happy are when I lose at Madden NFL 26 or NBA 2K26 on my PlayStation! My family and friends would probably describe me as someone who likes to help others, enjoys learning new things, and always smiling. In my home country, my life is fun, but every day feels a bit the same, and I really want to step out of my routine and experience something completely new. My family is very close, we love simple things, like spending time together with my grandparents, cooking, walking our dog, visiting new places, and traveling. I’m very grateful for my family. I know I will miss my parents, Eloïse and Bruno, just as they will miss me, but they also want the best for me and know this experience will help me grow personally and professionally. I also spend a lot of time with my friends. At school, I’m serious, motivated, and especially enjoy studying languages, particularly English, as well as learning about subjects like American history. In the future, I would like to study journalism because I’m passionate about sports and current events. Later, I hope to work as a sports journalist. Now, I’d like to tell you about my passions. I love many things, but I’m especially passionate about basketball. I play in a club and train as much as I can to become the best. I also love the NBA and watch as many games as possible. I’m also a good cook, I can prepare some French specialties as well as American-style burgers with a French twist! I’m teaching myself piano and guitar, and I can already play a few songs. In the winter, my family and I often go skiing together, I enjoy both skiing and snowboarding. I decided to join this program because I want to live a new experience, improve my English, and learn more about American culture. I believe that living with an American family and studying in a high school will help me understand your way of life, make new friends, and become more independent.
