Dear Host family, I’m María and I’m willing to explain you about my life. First of all, I want to thank you for participating in this exchange program and considering my application. Next year I’m going to start fourth year of secondary school in Spain (year 10 in USA) and I want to spend it in your country because I want this year to be different. Since I was 2 years old, I have been going to the same school, with the same friends, the same teachers, and same routine and I would like to try something new and different. I also think going one year abroad will make me mature and independent. Apart from that, I’m willing to explore new things like, explore American culture and its traditions because I’m an open minded girl. I've watched many American television series and that has made me aware of your way of life, which I find very interesting. I am an only child. I would have liked having siblings but the opportunity didn’t arise. This is why I think I’m a little bit shy at first, but after I start being very extrovert. I would like to have siblings in USA if possible (little children or teenagers), to know what is like to live with other kids and to share with them. I love being with muy parents. We do a lot of activities together like going to the beach, traveling and exploring different countries…(I went to NY last summer and I loved it). I also love my grandparents, so it would be great if I could meet yours). I’m supossed to describe how I am, but I’m finding it difficult. I consider myself a generous person. I like helping people with their assignments or personal problems. My friends say I’m a smiling person who loves having fun. I like trying and discoverying new things. I live in a big house with a big yard where my dog lives. I’m an animal lover. Since I was born, I’ve always had dogs. Right now I have one beagle called Nicky. I’m a very athletic person, I practice three different sports: swimming, voleyball and skiing. Since I was born, I go three time per week to swim. I’m very fond of this sport. I also do ski since I was 4 years old. My parents and me go to a ski resort every weekends on winter. Lastly, I am also a member of a volleyball team in my school. In my free time, specially in weekends, I like going out with my Friends to the mall or city center. I also invite them home or I go to theirs. We watch films or bake cookies. I’m willing to learn from you and become one more member of your family, sharing lots of good moments and creating wonderful memories. I hope we can share a great year!!. Greetings. Maria.
