Dear host family, My name is N. I'm 16 years old right now when I'm writing this letter, but I will be 17 when I get there in America and I actually will be having my 18th birthday there! I’m so happy about writing this letter because with this I know that i’m actually doing it, i’ll be an exchange student in a year! I'm really excited, my next family is reading this, I can't believe it. I’m so happy i will have the opportunity to do this experience that I dreamed of for so long! I love my family because we always collaborate together, My mother is very handy, if you need to repair or even build something you call her and she does it in no time, one time the cabinet in the corridor was broken and she built one from scratch with pyrographed doors! She’s also Hungarian and loves to cook. My father is really good with numbers, any time we have a problem with mathematics we all ask to him. He likes a lot of things, like motorcycles or skiing, but the thing he likes the most is watching sports on television, he watches all kinds of sports (occupying the television for all evening when there is tour the france). My brother has a big passion for video games, he likes to play all day (causing my mother to rebuke him). I often play with him, making him giggle all the time because I'm really bad at any type of video game, I love to make him laugh and I love kids in general. I also have two dogs and a cat. My school is too far for me to walk there so my mother drives me with her car, i study art in my city. I really like my school because everyone is different, i became so used to it that when i visit my childhood city and see how everyone is alike it looks almost strange to me. I like studying, it’s easy for me, in some subjects i don’t even need to study too hard to get good grades like English and Italian but there are a few subjects i find hard like science and mathematics that take me way more effort. I’d like to go to university, in particular fashion designing university and become a dress maker or a fashion designer one day. Now i will talk a bit about myself because i realised i still never did, i’m considered particular by most of the people of my age, it really depends though because in my school i’m a person that wears particular clothes like every one but in my childhood city i’m the girl that dresses weird and says strange things, but it’s just because i don’t like to look, say or think in a certain way just because everyone else does it. I like to dress how i feel more like myself and have an opinion, not just repeat what everyone says, that’s one of the reasons why i choose my school. I also consider myself intelligent (that sounds bad, I swear i’m modest usually) because I like to inform myself with books and articles about everything in my interest, because i think that being cultured is the biggest weapon we have to defend ourselves. I have many hobbies, so many i can’t count them on the fingers of my hands, hobbies like crocheting, reading or sewing, but the thing i practice the most is reading, i really love it because it helps me with my language (if it’s in italian or in english it always helps me learn new words) and it throws me in a completely new world. I don’t really like sports, I was never good at them but for a few years now I have practiced archery and i really like it. Anyways, I can't wait to see my next family and live this experience with them.
