's Letter
Dear Host Family,
My name is Alma and I am very excited about my exchange year in the United States. I would like to tell you a little bit about myself so that you can get to know me better.
I would describe myself as a cheerful and positive person who likes to try new things. I enjoy many activities, but my biggest passion is theater and especially dancing. I love being on stage and expressing myself in different roles. I also like to watch plays, musicals, and operas together with my mom. Another interest of mine is soccer. I enjoy going to the stadium with my dad and my older brother to support our favorite team.
I also have a big heart for children. For the past three years, I have volunteered at my church, taking care of kids between the ages of five and eleven during school holidays. This experience has taught me responsibility and patience.
My family is very important to me. We are five people: my parents, my 17-year-old brother, my 11-year-old brother, and me. We are all are very close but especially with my older brother I share a very close bond. I enjoy spending time with them as well as with my friends.
For my future, I hope to study something creative or social. I want to do something meaningful for society. I am still open to new ideas, and I am curious to discover more during my exchange year.
I am very thankful for the opportunity to live with you. I look forward to becoming a part of your family for one year, joining a sports team at high school, and learning more about American culture. At the same time, I am excited to share my own culture with you.
Warm regards,
Alma
