's Letter

Dear future host family, thank you so much for taking the time to let me introduce myself and share my interest with you through this letter. My name is Regina, I am from Mexico and I'm very excited about the possibility of joining your family and sharing this experience together. First of all, I would describe myself as a very optimistic and kind person. I am responsible, as I like to keep things organized and be aware of what is happening around me. I am also open-minded because I truly enjoy meeting new people and experiencing new opportunities. Additionally, I would consider myself a sensitive person, my emotions are easy to read because I enjoy expressing them and talking about how I feel. People who are close to me would describe me as trustworthy and honest. I truly enjoy helping people around me and making them feel comfortable and supported. Throughout my life, I have participated in different sports because I love trying new things and staying active. I have practiced gymnastics, ballet, jazz, volleyball, and tennis, and I am currently very focused on soccer. I have been playing for a few months now, and it has become an important part of my lifestyle. I usually play around two matches every week since I am part of my school team as well as a team with my friends. I would love to continue playing soccer during my exchange year, however, I am also open to trying other sports such as cheerleading or even American football. I also have an artistic side, as I love acting, dancing, and singing. These activities are an important way for me to express myself and have helped me become more confident. As a fun fact, you will probably find me singing at the most random moments throughout the day (especially in the shower or when I'm feeling stressed). In my personal life, I enjoy spending quality time with my family by playing board games, watching movies and series, going for walks, or simply talking for hours in our kitchen. Because of this, I am very excited about becoming part of a new family. I would love to be involved in your family dynamics and help whenever I can. I hope to build a fun and respectful bond with you, where I can learn from you and also share aspects of my own culture. The idea of having host siblings excites me, and if there are pets in your family, I would be more than happy. I am very excited about this exchange year because it is something I have wanted to do for a long time. During my time abroad, besides studying, keeping my grades up, practicing my English and learning about the culture, I would love to truly experience American life and its traditions. For example, celebrating holidays like Halloween and Thanksgiving, trying the traditional meals, and participating in local activities. Experiencing a snowy Christmas for the first time would be so much fun, though I might freeze because I’m used to warm weather. I would also like to attend football games, go hiking, visit forests or beaches depending on where you are located, join school clubs, and attend festivals. I'm open to experience as much as I can. I hope this letter has helped you to get to know me a little better. I hope to meet you soon and to share this meaningful experience as part of your family. Thank you again for your time and consideration. With gratitude, Regina.
