Hi, I'm Dario, I’m 16 years old, and I'm from Mexico. Thank you so much for receiving me in your house and for letting me be a part of your family and your routine I’m really excited to meet you and to share incredible moments together. I consider myself a very optimistic and social boy. Although I might be a bit shy at the beginning, but I love meeting new people, making friends, and spending time with others, sometimes I also enjoy being alone. I consider myself a very respectful, kind, honest, perseverant, ambitious, empathic, and adaptable person I also have a lot of energy in one moment I can be super chill and in the next I can be very active. I love making plans with friends or with family just having fun. At home I live with my mother and my brother, and we have 2 dogs my parents are divorced but they get along very well we’ve done trips together and lots of activities. My dad lives in another state because of his job but he visits us 2-3 weekends a month so we can spend some time together. Both work in hotels and my brother is in college but I love to spend time with him and I think that having a brother with whom you can talk and have a good time is one of the best things in life. On weekdays I go to school in the mornings then I get home, and I usually chill and eat something, and then I change my clothes to go to the gym when I return home, I have lunch, and then I chill for a while because at 7pm I have the football practice which lasts about 2 hours. After practice I go home to have dinner, take a shower, and then I watch some tv or my cellphone until bedtime. Then on weekends I usually like to sleep, but sometimes I wake up early, and I go to have breakfast with my family, and then we usually hang out at the mall have ice-cream lookout some shops or just walk and talk. We also go to the supermarket to buy food for the week and at night I usually play videogames with my friends or watch the tv, and of course the NFL which I love. I also enjoy soccer, Formula 1, tennis, and paddle. I really like sports, listening to music, eating, watching series and movies. A fun fact about me is that I love cinema and acting but I’m a bit shy. I also love hotels because of my parents I've had the opportunity to visit many hotels and I love them. At school I consider myself a good student I like to have fun with my friends and talk a lot, but my grades are usually good they are not all A’s I also get B’s and I rarely get a C, but I try to get the best grades I can. My favorite subjects are math and history because numbers have never been a problem for me, and I usually get A’s in math, and I like history because for me it’s very interesting to know what happened in the past sometimes its difficult because it’s too much information and its not easy to memorize everything but apart from that I like it. Now why do I want to go to the US? I think it’s a very safe country and the people there are friendly and warm. It’s also a very diverse country with something for everyone. I want to go because I want to improve my English, meet new people and become more independent from my parents also I want to discover the world from another perspective and have experiences that you won’t experience in other place beside of all that I really like the American festivities such as Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas which it’s my favorite season although I also love summer. I think celebrations in the US are on other level, the way you decorate everything, the climate, the fall color it’s just that everything looks so magical also like the American teenage lifestyle like riding bike with friends hanging out or going to someone’s house. My dream is to open my own boutique hotel near by the beach after some time and experience, for me this opportunity will give me more tools to achieve my goal and study abroad. I hope that during the year I spend there I achieve a better level of English, meet many people, and of course make a connection with all of you. Thank you and see you soon, Dario
