's Letter

Hi! I’m Pep! Nice to meet you! I hope this letter finds you well. I’m writing to introduce myself as I prepare to live in the United States next year. I would like to take this opportunity to share a little about myself and express my enthusiasm for this upcoming experience. I am very excited but also a bit nervous, because it will be my first time living so far away from home, but I think it will be an amazing experience. I consider myself a friendly, patient, and open-minded person. I enjoy meeting new people and learning about different cultures, and I always try to be respectful and understanding in new environments. I believe these qualities will help me adapt well and build a positive relationship with my future host family. I am also responsible and I try to do my best in everything I do, both at school and in my personal life. In my free time, I enjoy going to the gym, as staying active is very important to me. I also love listening to hip hop music, which helps me relax and motivates me in my daily routine. Additionally, I enjoy visiting theme parks, as I find them fun and exciting places that create great memories. I have visited the United States once before, and during that trip I went to Six Flags in New York and to Hersheypark. I really enjoyed the experience, and it made me even more excited about coming back to the U.S. Every week, I go to a youth group in my town called an ‘esplai’, and I have been going there for the last couple of years. An ‘esplai’ is similar to the boy scouts in the United States. We do activities together, play games, go on excursions, and learn values like teamwork, responsibility, and respect. I really like it because I can spend time with people my age, make new friends, and learn to be more independent. Being part of the ‘esplai’ has helped me grow as a person, gain maturity, and develop myself as a more independent person. This past summer, I went on a hiking trip with the ‘esplai’ in the Catalan Pyrenees. It was a very special experience for me because we walked long distances, slept in tents, and sometimes did bivouac outdoors. It was not always easy, but it helped me become stronger, more confident, and more used to adapting to new situations. I think this experience will help me a lot during my exchange year. I am truly grateful for the opportunity to be part of a host family and to experience everyday life in the United States. I am very much looking forward to meeting you, learning from you, and sharing this experience together. One of my main goals during this exchange year is to improve my English and become more confident speaking it every day. I know that living with a host family will help me learn much faster than studying only in a classroom. I am ready to make mistakes, learn from them, and keep improving, because I really want to take advantage of this opportunity. I am also very interested in experiencing daily life in the United States, such as going to school, celebrating holidays, and sharing family routines. I think these small everyday moments are the best way to learn about a new culture. I am open to trying new things, food, traditions, and activities, and I would be happy to share some of my own culture as well. Living abroad will be a big challenge for me, but I see it as a great opportunity to grow personally. Being away from my family and my comfort zone will help me become more independent, responsible, and confident. I am motivated to adapt, help at home when needed, and be a positive part of the family. Thank you very much for your time and kindness. I hope to see you soon.
