Dear host family: My name is Iciar. I'm 14 years old and I live in Madrid, Spain, and I am very happy to have the opportunity to write to you. I would like to thank you sincerely for opening your home to someone from another country. I truly appreciate your generosity and I am very excited about becoming part of a new family and learning about a new culture. I would describe myself as polite, kind, loving, fun, sociable, open-minded, adaptable, curious, friendly, caring, empathic and emotional. Some things I really like are for example animals, food, music, makeup, movies, clothes, and love. I live my everyday life with intensity and making the most out of each moment. I live with my family: my mom, my dad and my older sister, and I have a close relationship with them. We enjoy spending time together, going on trips, going to restaurants and watching movies. Family is very important to me because it makes me feel safe and supported. At home, my responsibilities are helping with household chores like cleaning my room, putting and clearing the table, cleaning the dishes and putting the dishwasher, and I try to be responsible and respectful. At school, I spend time with my friend apart from studying and doing my work. My favourite subjects are biology, music, and arts. I try to do all my homework and assignments on time, and being responsible with my work, being careful it's organized and presentable. I try to get along with everyone including my teachers, being respectful with them. I always try to have the best grades I can, giving it my all. I met my friend group and one of the most important persons of my life at school, they help me with everything and i can count on them everything In my free time, I like listening to music, reading, cooking, spending time with friends and family, playing volleyball and the violin. I really enjoy spending time with my loved ones, and making plans with them. I have a really big family (cousins, aunts and uncles) and we all make plans together each time we can. I have a really special relationship with my grandparents. I am curious about different lifestyles and ways of living, and I am excited to experience daily life in a new place. I look forward to attending school, learning new traditions and discovering new ways of thinking. I want to meet new people and create special bonds with everyone over there. I believe this experience will help me become more confident, open-minded and mature. As a member of your family, I promise to be polite, respectful and grateful. I am ready to adapt to your habits and rules, and I will always try to communicate in a positive and honest way. I hope I can share my culture with you and also learn a lot from yours.
