Jonathan
's Letter
Dear host family,
My name is Jonathan, but everyone (friends and family) call me Jonah. Thanks so much for taking the time to read my letter. I’m really excited about the chance to live with you during my exchange year, and I’d love to tell you a little bit about myself.
I’m a friendly, open-minded, and positive person. I’ve always loved the U.S., and I enjoy spending time with friends and family, as well as meeting new people and learning about different cultures. In my free time, I’m into sports and drawing. I also love being outside when the weather’s nice and just having fun. I love pets, so if you have pets, I will love them! Sadly, we don’t have pets at home. I do have an older brother, so if you have kids or even another exchange student, that’s totally fine with me.
Helping at home is important to me, it’s a matter of respect. When my parents ask me to do something, I try to help without complaining. I believe respect, honesty, and open communication are important, and I’d love to be part of your family life, not just a guest staying in your house.
One of my main goals for this exchange year is to improve my English and experience a different lifestyle. I’m curious about your traditions, hobbies, and daily routines, and I hope I can share some of my own culture with you, maybe even cook a dish from my home country.
I’m excited about everything that’s ahead and I really hope we’ll be a great match. Thanks again for considering me. I’m looking forward to meeting you soon!
Best wishes, Jonah
