Dear Host Family,
Thank you so much for considering me to be a part of your family and for opening your home to a student from Brazil. I am incredibly excited about the possibility of spending my exchange year with you!
I would describe myself as a proactive person who is always eager to learn and experience new things, which is exactly why I’ve always wanted to do an exchange program, especially in a wonderful country like the United States. I am an adventurous, responsible, and independent person, and I take my commitments seriously, both at school and at home. At my house, I always make sure to clean my room and help with the dishes. In my free time, I like to hang out with my friends, play games, and practice sports. I am looking forward to joining a school club or a sports team to make new friends and get involved in your community.
I have always been drawn to the United States because it is a very well-developed country and seems to have wonderful people. My main goals for this exchange are to truly get to know and adapt to the American culture, develop my English fluency, and meet new people who will be a part of my life forever. I am eager to learn about American traditions, and I also look forward to sharing mine. I know that education is taken very seriously in your country, and I believe this commitment is essential to helping me achieve my future goals. I have always enjoyed technology and plan to study and pursue a career related to it. I intend to use this year to grow as a person, become more independent and mature, and gain a broader view of the world.
I have a pleasant life back in Brazil. I live in a small, quiet town and attend a good private school. I have a great group of friends, and we regularly hang out together to play sports, watch movies, or whatever seems fun. I have a very supportive family who always encourages me to pursue my goals, and I know I can count on them for everything. Also, since I am Catholic, I sometimes go to church with my parents. I was very close to my older brother, and after he passed away a few years ago, I realized how much I value a close family environment. That is why I would love to be placed in a home with at least one child, as I believe having a host sibling will greatly enhance my experience and help me adapt, and I am particularly looking forward to a close family connection during my exchange.
I am committed to making the most of every opportunity this year, and I understand that being an exchange student is a great responsibility. I promise to be a respectful and helpful part of your family. I am excited to meet you!
Warmly, Enzo
