Dear host family, Nice to meet you! My name is Simon. I was born in a city in the south of France that is also the perfume capital of the world. I live in a small mountain village with my parents and my two adorable cats. My father is a doctor and my mother is a speech therapist. My older sister, Elise, has lived in another city for two years where she is studying hearing aids. So, the four of us are together less often, but when we were younger, we did a lot of things as a family: picking mushrooms and then cooking delicious meals, swimming in the sea, lakes, or rivers, going skiing together or camping with friends... We also like to go into town to go shopping, to the cinema, or to a restaurant. But my passion is mountain sports: mountain biking in the summer and skiing in the winter. Just a stone's throw from my house, there is a small bike park where I like to meet up with my friends. In winter, when we're lucky enough to have snow, we can ski. During my exchange, I would like to discover American sports like baseball, hockey or American football and in high school, I think I would enjoy being part of a club, for example swimming would be a good one for me. During the school year, I attend boarding school. Every Monday morning, I take the bus very early and get home on Friday at 6 p.m. In the evenings, after dinner, we have an hour and a half at the boarding school, from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m., so I have plenty of time to devote to my homework. In class, I particularly enjoy economics and math, which is why I'm thinking of pursuing a business degree because it's a field I'm very interested in. English is also one of my favorite subjects, which is why I chose to study in the United States. Being fluent in English is important for my studies. I've always been drawn to the United States for its cultural diversity (music, sports, cinema, ...), its traditions, and its way of life. It's also a unique opportunity for me to improve my English every day, at school and with my host family. I'd also like to experience American school life, which is very different from that in France, and participate in the clubs and activities offered. I want to participate in this school program because I'm eager to discover new things, to have an experience that will help me grow and open up to the world. I've already heard about this type of adventure from my sister, who spent two years on exchange in Florida and has very fond memories of it. She really inspired me and motivated me to take the plunge. I'd like to bring a French touch to my host family with our traditions, our gastronomy, and our humor. I'd like to help my host family with their daily tasks as much as I can. As for my school, I plan to bring my motivation and curiosity. I would also like to interact with my classmates, participate in school activities, and fully integrate into school life. Dear host family, Thank you for welcoming me into your home.
