Dear family
My name is A, I am 16 years old, and I'm from Italy.
I want you to know who I am, how I live in my country, and what I like to do. I hope this helps you to know me better
I think I am a friendly and positive boy. I like to smile and stay with people. I enjoy talking, listening, and learning from others. I try to be kind and honest in everything I do. I believe respect is very important, and I always try to show it to my family, my teachers, and my friends.
My family is very important to me. At home I live with my mother and my two sisters. We have a very good relationship. She has always supported me, not only in school but also in life. She encourages me to follow my dreams. I talk with her about many things, from small problems at school to bigger decisions about my future. I know that I will miss her during my year abroad, but I also know that she is proud of me and she wants me to enjoy this experience as much as possible.
In Italy, I go to high school. School usually starts in the morning and finishes in the early afternoon. I study many subjects such as Italian, history, mathematics, and of course English. I know my English is not perfect, but I want to improve it a lot during my exchange year. Sometimes school can be difficult, but I always try to do my best and learn something new every day.
One of my biggest passions is hockey. I really loved this sport because it is full of energy and requires teamwork. Playing hockey makes me feel active and strong, and it also gives me the chance to share moments with my teammates. On the field, we have to help each other, and this is something I also try to do in my daily life. Hockey has taught me to be disciplined, to respect rules, and to stay focused. Training can be hard, but I always feel better after it. For me, hockey is not just a sport, it is also a way to grow as a person.
Besides hockey, I also have other hobbies. I like listening to music, watching movies, and spending time with my friends. On weekends, I often go out with my friends and watch Formula 1 with them, and also we play sports, walk around the city, or simply talk together. I like to be active, but I also appreciate quiet moments when I can think and enjoy time alone.
My typical day is quite simple. I usually wake up early in the morning, have breakfast, and go to school. I stay at school until 2 pm. When I come back home, I eat lunch and then, after a a little break, I start doing my homework. After that, depending on the day, I meet some friends or just relax at home. In the evening, I usually have dinner with my mom and my sisters, and after that we sometimes watch TV or a movie together. Before going to bed, I like to listen to some music. Then I prepare my things for the next day and go to sleep.
I am very excited about the idea of living with a host family. For me, this is not only a chance to study in another country, but also to become part of a new family and to share everyday life together. I would like to learn about your culture, your traditions, and your way of living. At the same time, I will be happy to share with you my Italian culture, our food, our traditions, and my personal experiences. I think this cultural exchange will make me grow a lot, and I hope it will also be a positive experience for you.
I know that living abroad will not always be easy. There will be moments when I will miss my home, my family, or my friends. But I am ready to face these challenges, because I believe they are part of the journey. I want to stay open, flexible, and ready to adapt to new situations. I hope to build a good relationship with you, based on trust and respect.
I want to thank you very much for welcoming me into your family. I know it is a big decision to open your home to a student from another country, and I am very grateful for this opportunity. I promise I will do my best to be a good guest.
Can't wait to see you,
A
