's Letter

Dear host family, First, thank you for reading my letter. I am Kotaro. I am from Japan. I would like to eat many dishes with you. I am interested in foreign food such as Mexican, Turkish, and traditional dishes. I would like to enjoy these dishes and feel happy together. Also I hope to join home parties too. In Japan, there is no such culture as inviting friends or relatives to my home and having food with them. On the other hand, I heard that Americans invite them for fun, like celebrating birthdays, weekend barbecues, or holiday dinners. I would like to feel such a heartwarming culture. I can make some Japanese food such as Sushi, Miso soup and so on. They’re good for our health and so delicious. I wish to enjoy eating them with you and your family or others. I believe that you will like them. Next, I would like to tell you about my daily life. I practice artistic gymnastics on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday for about two and a half hours. The practice is sometimes hard, but playing gymnastics makes me happy. I have piano lessons on Saturday afternoon. These days, I am practicing Chopin's “military “ polonaise. I like it because it is so cool. I can relax by playing it. I belong to a chemistry club on Wednesday and do experiments. Of course, I go to school every weekday. There are many interesting teachers and amusing friends, so I am enjoying my school life very much. I would like to be a chemistry professor in a university, and I would like to find new materials that are useful and change our lives for the better. Also, I would like to tell the interesting things about chemistry. Now, I would like to tell you why I joined this program. This is because I would like to broaden my horizons, and I would like to have a detailed vision for the future. Nowadays, it is important to know and have ideas of many things, such as culture, religion, and so on, and I think the USA is the best country for learning about them because there are many different cultures, religions and people. Therefore, I would like to study in the USA. Subsequently, I would like to tell you about my family members. My grandfather likes climbing mountains and traveling around the world. He has climbed Mt.everest 3 times. He always said that I would live to be 128 years old. He is a fine elder. My mother works at a high school. She is an English teacher, so she teaches me English. My father works at a company and he is an IT engineer. When I am in IT trouble, he always helps me. He can cook the “Rolled fried eggs “ very well. Both my parents are gentle to me. My younger sister is a junior high school student, and she sometimes cooks our meals. She loves ramen noodles so much, and she can find delicious ramen shops. My younger brother is an elementary school student, and we often play video games together. He can run very fast, so he won the marathon. Finally, I would like to thank you for giving me a chance to study in the USA. I hope that we can live together. With gratitude, Kotaro
