Diane
's Letter
Dear Host Family,
My name is Diane, and I am really excited to write this letter to introduce myself and show you how much I would love to spend this year with you. I know you have many candidates, but I hope this letter will give you a good idea of who I am and why I would be a great addition to your family.
First of all, I love animals, especially cats! If you have any, I can’t wait to meet them. I don’t spend a lot of time alone in my bedroom because I really enjoy sharing moments with my family, whether it’s talking, laughing, cooking together, or just being there for each other. I want next year to be more than just an exchange; I want to build real connections, with trust and friendship.
I would like to come to the United States because I am curious about your culture and lifestyle. I want to improve my English, meet new people, and learn about your traditions and everyday life. I also hope to share my own culture with you and bring a little bit of France into your home. For me, this year is a chance to grow, discover the world, and make lifelong memories.
I have to confess something… I am a bit grumpy in the morning! But once I wake up, I am cheerful, sociable, and organized. I like supporting the people around me when they’re not feeling their best, and I hope I can do the same for you.
I sleep a lot and usually get up late on weekends (9-10am). I eat a balanced diet (a lot of vegetables and fruits) and love cooking, especially Italian food. I don’t eat fish or seafood, but I am always excited to try new dishes. I really love pasta with cheese and some vegetables, it’s my guilty pleasure. I would also really love to try Taco Bell, In-N-Out and Cane’s while I am in the US!
I have many hobbies: reading is my biggest passion, but I also enjoy practicing theater, dance, pottery, and sewing. I like being active and creative, but I also enjoy quiet moments to relax or read a good book. I love traveling, discovering new places, and walking a little (though I’m not a fan of long hikes). I also enjoy board games and sharing activities with others.
For me, the most important part of this experience is creating a strong relationship with my host family. I’d love for us to share our traditions, habits, and activities, and to be there for each other. My wish is that this year becomes one full of joy, discoveries, and special memories we will all keep.
I am a joyful and enthusiastic person, and I will do my best to integrate easily and participate in family life. I am really looking forward to meeting you, learning about your home and habits, and spending an amazing year with you.
Thank you very much for considering me. I really hope you choose me to share this amazing adventure!
Sincerely,
Diane
