Martin
's Letter
If you are reading this, it means I have the great opportunity to join this exchange program, and I’m really excited to tell you a bit about myself. My name is Martin, I’m from Spain, and I’m a boy who loves sports, spending time with family and friends, and trying new things.
Sports are a big part of my life. I play soccer in a club with my friends, and we always have a lot of fun together. I also play tennis once a week with my brother. I think sports teach you how to work in a team, to stay focused, and to always give your best. They also help me feel active and happy.
I live with my parents, my brother, and my sister. We are a very close family and we like spending time together, especially on weekends. Sometimes we go for walks, watch movies, visit my grandparents and we love travelling together. My family is very important to me because they always support me.
My favorite subjects at school are physical education and history. I like physical education because I love being active, and history because I like to learn about the past and understand how people lived.
During my exchange year in the United States, I would love to experience the American lifestyle — go to football and baseball games, try new foods, meet new people, and learn more about American culture. I really admire the positive and creative mentality that many Americans have, and I would like to learn from it.
In my free time, I like hanging out with my friends, and sometimes I cut their hair, which is something I enjoy doing. I also love animals. When I was younger, I wanted to have a dog, but we don’t have any garden. My grandfather had one, and I used to visit him in the mountains to play with it. Those are some of my best memories and why I still love animals so much.
I hope this helps you get to know me a little better. I’m really looking forward to this experience and everything I can learn from it.
