's Letter
Hello,
this is Ettore writing,
Thank you for hosting me for 6 months, thus making the beginning of a great adventure possible—one from which I hope to emerge grown, intact, and with my eyes even wider open than when I'm awake regarding the world. I can't wait to get to know your family and your habits. I hope to be able to immerse myself as best as possible in the life of an American teenager and have fun with you.
I think I am a fun person who is looking for new adventures and who likes to discover and learn new things. I am passionate about history, from which I think one can learn a lot and be fascinated by how man went from the discovery of fire to the invention of the back scratcher! I believe music is an essential part of my everyday life; I listen to every musical genre except modern rap (lately, rock has particularly captured my attention). I practice several sports: basketball, skiing, and windsurfing, each of which I genuinely enjoy, but I would love to try new ones while in the USA—I'm a sporty guy ;). During the school year, I play basketball in the Excellence league; I have 4 training sessions a week plus a game on the weekend. In my free time, I watch movies, TV series, play video games, and hang out with friends in the center of my city. I define myself as extroverted and adaptable, I am very independent in my everyday life, and I enjoy experimenting in the kitchen. I would like to have the chance to travel more to learn about more cultures and improve my English.
Yes, in case you were wondering, in addition to all this, I study ;) I attend a quite demanding Scientific High School (Liceo Scientifico), especially this year, the third, which for us in Italy is the third-to-last year before the end of school. My favorite subjects are history and physical education.
There are 5 of us in my family. My parents are named Lara and Marco. I am the oldest of 3 brothers. My brother Ascanio is the middle one and is 13 years old, while my brother Valerio is the youngest and is 9 years old. We joke a lot with each other, but I must admit that those two are closer to each other than to me, but that doesn't make me sad. On the contrary, I am fine even when I'm home alone. We also joke a lot and have fun in general as a family during shared moments like lunches and dinners on the weekends.
I hope to live one of the best experiences of my life, which I will carry with me forever, and to form a strong bond with you. See you soon.
Ettore.
