's Letter

Dear host family, My name is Julia, I’m from Brazil and I’m so grateful for this opportunity, I don’t have words to thank you. I can’t wait to experience all this and enjoy this new phase with you. I have always dreamed of doing an exchange program, my parents encouraged me since I was a child, both made an exchange when they had my age and to me know how important it was for them made me to want more and more. To me make an exchange program is important for many things, this new experience can offer me a chance to get to know the culture, make new friends, the ideia of living in a different place. And besides, I know that in the future I’ll have better job opportunities if I am fluent in English, that’s what I dream about. My family and I are very close, I live with my father, my mother, my little sister and my guinea pig. They are the most important thing in my life, our relationship is based in sincerity and love, so we count and trust each other a lot, but even attached to them I know I can get away for them for a while, and I sure that I will have a amazing relationship with you. I really like sports, any sport there is I’ll always play, but my favorite sport is volleyball, I love playing volleyball, I play for my city and with this I know how important sports are for me, I made new friends and visited new places. With volleyball I started to have discipline and understand that winning will always be good but defeats will be part of it, and the only thing you can do is continue playing and trying to get better and better. I love staying at home but I also love go out with my friends, I really enjoy listening all of kinds of music and movies/series, and I really love pets, at home I have just a guinea pig named Nina, she is with my family since 2021, but if I could I would like to have a dog too, or other pet. During the week, I wake up at 6am and go to school, I have class from 7am to 13pm. Tuesday and Thursday I practice volleyball, and I also go to the gym every day I can. On weekends I like to go out with my friends, some of them play volleyball with me, and the others are from my class, on Saturday I spend my day with my whole family, we usually have lunch together and talk about life and news. Talking about life and future, I would like to be a lawyer here in Brazil, I think this would be the profession that best suits me, and it’s the only one that I’ve deemed of since I was a child. I really like this area, and I hope to practice law someday, with a lot of study and dedication. This is just a little bit about me, I hope you wanted to know me more. I’m so grateful for having these opportunity to do an exchange, and so excited to meet you and making lots of memories that I will never forget. Thank you for being part of this special moment. With love, Julia.
