Dear Host Family,
I'm Tommaso, I’m half French and half Italian, because a part of my mother’s family comes from France and she’s born there.
Thank you for hosting me and for this amazing opportunity you're giving me, I'm very excited about this. I would like to have this experience to meet new people, become more independent, learn more about your culture, step out of my comfort zone in new habits and in a new lifestyle.
I think I'm a talkative person, curious, creative and extroverted. My friends call me Tommy and describe me as friendly, sunny and funny. I love cooking especially dessert but also Italian dishes that I hope to make you try, because when I was a child, my great-grandmother showed and let me cook with her while she was working the dough and cooking, also I like trying new foods from different countries, and my favorite is Passatelli a typical italian dish from my region. Another thing that I love doing is watching sports, especially soccer, and TV series or films. I play padel, but I'd be curious to try other sports that maybe aren't popular or diffused in Italy when I'll be in the USA, do you like to play or watch some sport in particular?
Also, I love spending time with my family especially during the holidays, I would like to experience American holidays such as Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas, cooking and decorating with you, discovering your traditions. Do you do anything special on these occasions? Do you have any traditional recipes or dishes that you cook for the holidays? Do you enjoy decorating, cooking and spending time with family during the holidays?
My family consists of three people: my father Angelo, but I call him Bibo, my mother Elodie, and me. I’m very close to my dad because he’s always at home in the afternoon, we spend a lot of time together, and I love laughing with him, while with my mother I like to go on trips, visit museums, try new foods, and discover new cultures. As a family we enjoy travelling together and over the years we’ve visited many countries around the world. Thanks to this, I got interested in cultures, history, languages, art and geography.
I’ve known most of my friends since I was a child, and when I’m with them I like play sports or videogames, going on vacations with our families and have fun.
I’m so excited and can’t wait to arrive in the USA, meet you and start my Journey. I hope I will manage to create a strong relationship with you as well. I would like you to be able to trust me and consider me part of your family. I’d like to grow as a person, learn how to relate with people with a different culture through daily life together. I’d like to find a new home away from home and to be happy, as well as making you all happy for having me there! Thank you!
See you soon, Tommy.
