's Letter

Dear host family, Hello! I'm Juju, or sometimes they just call me Ju, and I'm so excited to be living this experience in the United States and to be able to spend such a unique time with you. Through this letter, I wanted to tell you a little about myself, what I love, and my life here in France. I'm a girl full of energy, smiling, curious and always willing to try new things. I love chatting, getting to know people, laughing, and I'm the kind of person who adapts easily. I'm often told that I have a real joie de vivre, that I talk a lot (I can confirm that!), and that I create a good atmosphere around me. It makes me happy to make others laugh and put a smile on their faces! Well, I also have my faults: I'm a perfectionist with myself, a bit too talkative at times and I confess I'm a bit stubborn. I've been passionate about basketball for nine years now. I play in a club, and my team and I have already won several cups, which has made us very proud! I love this sport: it allows me to let off steam, to surpass myself, to work as a team and to experience great moments. I couldn't do without it. Basketball is really important to me, it’s not just a sport, it’s a way to let off steam and express myself. In the field, I feel completely free and that’s where I really am. I dare to be a different person, more confident, more courageous, and I feel strong. This sport gives me an energy that I can’t find anywhere else. I play at a good level, which corresponds to the regional competition in France. To make a comparison, this would be equivalent to a competitive high school or university start in the United States. I almost joined a big club, which shows how serious I am in my practice and how much I love this sport. Basketball has taught me to work as a team, to persevere and not to give up even when it is difficult. In addition to helping me stay fit, basketball helps me a lot to manage stress and forget about everyday worries. When I’m out in the field, I focus completely on the game, and everything else disappears. It’s a really happy time for me. I really hope that I can continue to play basketball during my stay with you. It would be a great way to meet new people, discover the local culture, and maybe even share my passion with you. I'm also very attracted to music. I've been playing saxophone for nine years, French horn for two, and a little piano just for fun. Music is with me all the time, whether to relax, have fun or concentrate. I also love listening to music, singing and dancing when I'm alone in my room! Apart from sports and music, I have many other passions. I read a lot, especially romance novels, or there is a happy end that there is love. I also like to write, learn new things, watch movies or series, for example my favorite movie is Pearl Harbor, and my favorite series is The Vampire Diaries – I love the atmosphere, the characters, and the emotions that it makes me feel. I am quite sporty in general: I like to move, try many activities, and I’m always ready to discover new sports. At school, I have a preference for languages, history and of course EPS I live in the countryside, in a quiet place surrounded by nature, but I also love the city, outings, concerts, events. I have three brothers with whom I get along very well, I have a different connection with each of them: a bigger one with whom I am close enough, a little one with whom I have been very much complicit for a long time is like my best friend, and the little one that I cherish and who is real sunshine. In everyday life, I like to spend time with my friends, whether it’s going out, chatting, listening to music or going to parties or the simple little moments that create beautiful memories. I also love to cheer on my club during important matches, the atmosphere is always great and it’s in those moments that I create the most memories. Participating in this exchange program is an incredible opportunity for me. I really want to discover a new culture, to live a different life for a while, to progress in English, but also to share some of my French culture. I hope to create beautiful memories with you, and live a unique adventure, full of exchanges, laughter and discoveries. I am super motivated to integrate into your family and participate in everyday life. I hope to live many beautiful moments with you and return to France with incredible memories. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for welcoming me to your home. I really look forward to meeting you and starting this beautiful experience together! See you soon.
