Dear host family, First, I want to thank you for your willingness to welcome me into your home and in your life, I am really grateful for this opportunity. My name is Anna, I live in a small town in northern Italy with my family. I have two siblings: a twin sister, with whom I share many experiences, and I talk a lot, and an older brother with whom I have a lot of fun. My parents are affectionate and curious people, and they have always taught me the importance of kindness and respect towards others. I believe I am a cheerful and openminded person. I like meeting new people and listening to their stories. My friends describe me as a sunny, empathetic and reliable girl. I love laughing, being in company and sharing simple moments like a walk, an evening chat or cooking together. Generally, I’m not a shy girl, in fact I consider myself outgoing and I always try to be inclusive and welcome others. In my free time I like to play the guitar (although I’m not very good at it), listen to music, watch movies and go out with my friends. I really like doing sports, I’ve been doing track and field for almost 5 years now, and I like running. Another passion of mine is cooking; I enjoy experimenting and I would love to cook for you! I decided to participate in this program because I want to grow, learn to look at the world from a different perspective and test myself. I believe that living in a new culture, with a family different from mine, is a wonderful way to learn to be more independent, open-minded and grateful. In Italy on a regular day, I go to school in the morning, in the afternoon I usually study or help around the house and then I go to track and field practice. I’m looking forward to discovering what my routine will be like in the US. I can’t wait to meet you, discover your home, your community and your traditions. I would like to know what your typical day is like, what you like to do together and if you have any hobbies. Thanks again for this opportunity.
