Dear Host Family,
I really appreciate your kindness in joining the exchange program and inviting me to stay with your family.
I am a Ukrainian girl and have just finished my secondary school. I like to try new hobbies and other things, I hope to see the world and experience life in America. I want to learn about USA and its culture and share in your life.
I am very easy-going, adventurous, hard-working, responsible, curious and flexible person. I like playing tennis, volleyball, swimming and skiing. Also I do not mind to play badminton and ride a bike. I speak two languages fluently, Ukrainian and Russian, I can speak English too. Furthermore, I learn German language at school and learnt Korean. Although I do not have the opportunity to volunteer in Ukraine. We generally have few activities for teenagers in our country. I want to try many new things in USA and volunteering too.
I have played tennis for six years. I enjoy tennis because it teaches me patience and I can play with friends and have fun. I understand that I may not be able to play tennis in America but it is not a problem for me because I want to try other hobbies and joining different school clubs.
My dad is the director of a factory, and my mom works as a marketing manager. My older brother is an IT specialist and is finishing university. We really enjoy spending time together as a family, travelling, and doing both active and relaxing activities. We are very close , and I hope I can become a part of your family and share wonderful experiences with you.
I think the Ukrainian language and traditional customs are the most important parts of Ukrainian culture. I am glad to share the beauty of Ukrainian culture with my host family. I would also like to show my host family how we celebrate different Ukrainian festivals, for example, Christmas, Easter, Ivana Kupala Day, and Independence Day. I can also share knowledge about traditional Ukrainian food, such as borscht, varenyky, holubtsi, and syrniki. I would be happy to share some Ukrainian folk songs and traditional dances with you as well.
Seeing the amazing pictures of my Ayusa brothers and sisters made me even more eager to go to America and experience your culture. I hope I can also take beautiful photos and create unforgettable memories with you and my new friends in America. I am really excited about the opportunity to become a part of your family!
Warm regards,
Polina
