Dear host family, Thank you so much for being wiling to participate in the exchange program and giving me the chance to fulfill one of my dreams. I've always wanted to visit the United-states, which is one of my favorite countries, but I don't know why. I am from France, and I really love my country. I am currently in my first year of high school and I really enjoy it. Here, I learn English and Spanish. Unfortunately I'm not really good in Spanish. I'm way better in English because I've studied it for 10 years. I love learning languages at school, they are my favorite subjects. I made friends quickly in high school, and now we often hang out (we just go shopping near school). I also have friends from middle school that I see as often as I can, they are my best friends. I think I'm outgoing, but half of the time I also really want to just stay at home and rest. I am also shy when I first met people. Some friends describe me as ambitious, kind and determined. I love travelling, learning and discovering. My main hobby is reading, I read since I'm able to do so and I really enjoy it. I got it from my mother. I also like ballet, I've practiced it for 10 years. I often listen to music, play board games with my family and watch movies. I am an only child and I live with my mother and my father. We are really close. I also see my mother's parents often. I like to spend my week-ends with my parents, sometimes we go out to walk the pets. We have three dogs (one big dog and two small dogs) and a cat. I love all my pets very much. My grandparents also have a small dog that is very cute. I love animals and if you have any pets or animals in general I'll be more than happy. I want to live in the United-states to discover a new culture. I want to feel like an American and try all the things I can try. For exemple, celebrating Thanksgiving is one of the things I'm the most excited for. I know it's really important in the United-states but we don't have that in France. I also want to attend American school because I would like to meet new people, make new friends. I also want to learn other things, like the United-states' history (more deeply than I do in France), and improve my English, to maybe become fluent (I would love to learn new vocabulary that will help me improve my sentences). I've always loved English so I'm really excited to speak it everyday. Another thing is that I would like to see a school football/soccer game if they are some, or just any school sport game ! I would have also loved to be a cheerleader but I don't think I have the skills to do so. I want to live with an American family to discover your habits, see how another family than mine works. Maybe a bigger family than mine ? If you have kids, I would be more than happy to discover how it feels to have siblings, if you don't I would also be really happy, because all I want is to spend the most wonderful year in the united-states. I also want to make you discover my culture. I am very proud of it and I would be more than happy to share what I know with you ! My grandmother is going to teach me how to make good bread, and if before living France I know how to do it properly I would love to make some for you (but I can't promise) ! I will also help, of course, and I'd really like to be part of your family and make beautiful memories with you ! After this year in the United-states, I will continue my years of high school and graduate. After that, I would maybe like to be an Au Pair girl I the united-states but I still have to think about it, fortunately, I have time. After that I think I will go to college, either in France or in the United-states, I don't yet. I also don't know what I want to study, I just want to have a job that will make me happy everyday and will give me a comfortable life.
