Dear host family,
Firstly, thank you so much for being willing to participate in the exchange program and accept me as part of your family for a year.
I am fifteen years old and have lived my whole life in Spain. I have visited cities such as Paris and Rome. I have never been to the United States and can't wait to visit and learn about its culture, traditions, and people.
Ever since I learned how to read, I have loved doing so, I have always also been interested in fashion and art but most importantly, in the history behind it.
It was a completely different story when it came to sports, I didn't like any of them until I grew up and I discovered that I needed some motivation like doing it with my friends. I did volleyball for a few years and then I tried track and field, and I deeply enjoyed it and it was a great way of developing friendships.
I have also tried other sports like golf -which I still play- basketball or horse riding, I hope to sign up for different sports and activities at my high school and make friends there
I also enjoy watching movies and TV series, hanging out with my friends.
I speak Spanish and English, and I am also studying French and German, as I believe that there is no better way to begin to integrate into a culture than by learning and showing interest in its language.
My parents are both economic graduates. My mother works for Costco and my father works in a laboratory. They have been married for twenty-five years.I have two older sisters, of ages 24 and 21. We have many cousins and uncles whom we see frequently, we are a close-knit family and I hope to become part of yours as well.
I'm not quite sure what I want to study, but I know for sure that I want a career that allows me to help others in the biomedical field.
Every time I hear former exchange students talk about their experiences, I become more certain that I want to spend next year studying in the United States as part of your family and have a second life alongside all of you.
Warm Regards,
Beatriz
