's Letter
Dear Host Family,
I know that welcoming a student into your home is not an easy decision, and I would like to thank you for taking the time to read my letter and get to know me a little. I hope this gives you a sense of who I am and why I would be so happy to spend half a year – or even a bit longer – with you.
I come from a family of five: I have a younger sister and a younger brother. There is always something going on at home! We talk a lot, sometimes we argue and, of course, make up again—just like in every family. Our house is always open; family and friends are welcome at any time, and I really enjoy that warm and lively atmosphere.
I’m really looking forward to being part of your daily life, sharing experiences, and enjoying the little moments together. I’m curious about the small traditions that make your family unique, and I’m also excited to share some of my own family traditions with you. For example, the time around Christmas is very special to me and full of beautiful customs, and I would love to discover yours as well.
I’m especially excited to experience celebrations such as Halloween or Thanksgiving, which I have only heard about so far and would love to be part of.
A little more about me: I’m passionate about traveling and love discovering new places, trying new things, and learning about different cultures. Animals have always been close to my heart. I ride horses and have a riding partnership at home, which brings me a lot of joy and responsibility. I also enjoy keeping active with Pilates, and when I’m relaxing, I love to read a good book.
I enjoy being part of a household where everyone contributes and supports each other. I’m happy to help with chores, try out new activities, or join in family events. I’m flexible and open-minded, and I feel comfortable adapting to new routines and ways of living.
Thank you so much for considering me. I truly appreciate the time and thought you put into this process, and I’m very excited about the chance to meet you, learn from you, and share a wonderful half-year (or even a little longer) full of memories and meaningful experiences.
Sincerely,
Filippa
