Host Family Letter Hello family, I'm so excited to live this experience with you and learn new things. I've always loved learning about all areas, and my favorite thing in the world is traveling. Getting to know different countries and cultures is wonderful for me, and I'd like to travel all over the world. I really like music, reading, playing sports, and I really enjoy talking with my friends. My best friend's name is Emilia, and we've been friends for 7 years. We're classmates at school. I know I'm going to miss her a lot, but I hope to keep in touch with her daily, as well as with my family. I live with my mom and my aunt. My mom and I are very close, so I'm going to miss her a lot, too. We like to cook, go out for coffee on the weekends, and browse shops and bookstores. We also like to travel together. My mom also accompanies me to all the volleyball tournaments and games I attend. My mother is the manager of a very nice hotel. I've always stayed in hotels since I was a baby, perhaps that's why I love traveling so much. My father lives in the south, in a very beautiful city called Pucón. I see him about once a month. When he comes, we like to have barbecues and spend time with my grandparents and stepbrother. Another thing I love is volleyball. I train four times a week, at school and at a club, and I participate in championships for both. It makes me very happy, so I hope to join a school team in the United States when I'm with you. On the other hand, I've been a scout since I was 7 years old, and it's one of the things that makes me most proud of myself. Knowing that I have the values of a scout makes me very happy. I hope to make many good friends on this trip—not just friends for a short time, but friends that will last forever.
