Hello dear future host family, I’m Cloe!
I live in France but I was born in Costa Rica. This place where I was born has, since I was little, instilled in me a love for travel, a desire to explore the world, and a curiosity to experience new cultures.
I live with my parents, with whom I have a very good relationship. The same goes for my older sister and older brother, and of course, my cat, who fills my days with warmth and affection.
Here in the south of France, I truly thrive. My daily life is full of little routines and surprises, surrounded by people who care deeply about me and whom I value greatly. Friendship is a major pillar in my life.
I enjoy school and have good conditions for studying.
There are many things to know about me and my personality. I’m expressive and honest. I have no shortage of creativity or inspiration.
I’m determined and persistent. I go after what I want and don’t let anything, or anyone stand in my way. I’m curious and love to think deeply and reflect. I speak up, especially when it comes to defending my beliefs and interests. I can be impatient sometimes. I don’t like going in circles, and I like things to move fast.
I practiced gymnastics for many years, and I continue on my own at home. I’ve also been dancing for several years.
I’m passionate about cinematography and the world of film, a field I could see myself working in one day.
I couldn’t live without music, and I also love photography and writing.
Since I was very young, I’ve been going to summer camp for two weeks each summer a place that has taught me a lot and helps me take a step back from my everyday life. It connects me with nature and the world around me, alongside strong friendships I’ve built over the years.
I’ve always loved traveling and exploring different corners of the world with my family. But now, I feel ready to take on a journey that’s just about me a personal experience and growth of my own. This is one of the main reasons why I chose to take part in a semester abroad at an American high school. Going there, living with a host family, would be a fresh start for me and for the person I’m becoming. Finding myself in a new daily life, with unfamiliar routines, people, and a new family, would push me to grow into a better version of myself, to discover who I am from different perspectives, gain maturity and independence, and open my mind by adapting to a new reality. Living an immersive experience, diving into American culture and language, improving my English, studying in a different educational system, and sharing everyday life with locals is an opportunity I embrace with great determination and gratitude.
Thank you for taking the time to read my letter and for considering welcoming me into your home.
I’m truly excited about the idea of living this experience with an American family, discovering a new culture from the inside, and sharing in your daily life.
Looking forward to possibly meeting you!
