Dear Host Family,
Thank you so much for being willing to participate in the exchange program and accepting me to live with your family.
I am a German girl and have just finished the 10th grade in my gymnasium. I like to try new things, and I want to explore the world, including America. I want to learn about the American culture and share life with you.
I love music! I like to play the Piano, Ukulele, French Horn or to sing in my church band. I am a very outgoing, straightforward, academic and fun-loving person. I am creative and like scrapbooking all my favorite moments and I like sewing. In school I have learned English for a few years by now, and I look forward to becoming fluent in English. I am a Christian and go to church every Sunday and on Monday for the youth group.
I like sports in a team with others but also going for runs alone in the fresh air. I am doing everyday home workouts and enjoy it. I hope I can join music and sports clubs in school, but I am open to all the activities there.
My father is a managing director in the event sector, and he is a good cook. My mom is a nurse in a hospice, choir director of three choirs and enjoys making jewelry. My older brother is two years older than me, and he is in 12th grade. We are a close family, and I hope to become a part of your family as well.
I am glad to share the beauty of the German culture with my host family. I also would like to show my host family the typical German food such as German bread, bratwurst (sausages) and potatoes with cream. I will share with you typical German songs and sing them with you.
My brother was for an exchange year in America too and when he talked about it, I thought I wanted to have that experience too. I hope I can learn more about the culture and the people. I believe that I can also take amazing photos and have unforgettable memories with you and my new friends in America. I am excited to become a part of your family!
Warm Regards,
Maxi Luise
