Dear Host Family, I am very excited about the chance to spend a school year in the USA and to live with you. This is a wonderful opportunity for me to learn more about American culture and to become more independent. At the same time, I hope to share a little bit of my own culture with you. I am curious and open-minded, and I enjoy meeting new people. At school, my favorite subjects are English, Math, and Sports. In my free time, I love playing handball with my team. I also care a lot about the environment. I usually ride my bike to school instead of using the bus, and I take part in a cycling project every year. I am especially looking forward to everyday life with your family – not just being a guest, but really becoming part of your family. I would love to help at home, join family activities, and learn about your traditions. At the same time, I would be happy to tell you about life in Germany.
