Dear future host family, My name is Louise and I am French. I lived in France all my childhood . There I was in a French primary school and in a French middle school, so my English was not that good, but it was my favorite subject and I had very good grades. I have one dog and two cats . My hobby was first of all figure skating, I used to practice 3 hours per week. It was truly a passion that I shared with my best friend. However, for now 3 years and a half, I live in Mauritius (a little island in the Indian Ocean) and there is no ice rink there, so I am doing gymnastics. I finished my middle school in the French system and last year I decided to go to an English high school. I started in year 10, it was not easy every day but I never gave up. Now I’m in year 11 and my English level is so much better, but I’m not fluent, this is also why I want to do this exchange year in the USA. I love my life in Mauritius, I live with my parents and my 2 brothers with whom I have a good relationship. I have a lot of friends with whom I love going to the beach, for example. In the future I would like to go to a business school, probably in Spain, exactly in Madrid, to work in international business. Doing an exchange year in the USA has always been a dream for me. Living the daily life of an American teenager seems extraordinary. I would like to try cheerleading, go to all the activities in an American high school and make American friends. Being in an American host family will be very good to practice my English every day and discover new habits and culture.
