's Letter
Dear host family,
Thank you so much for taking the time to read my letter. I’m a high school student from Italy, and I’m incredibly excited about the possibility of becoming part of an American host family. Living in the United States has always been a dream of mine, and I’m looking forward to experiencing American culture, family life, and high school from the inside. I hope to build meaningful connections, and share my own culture. I consider myself an extroverted and friendly person. I love spending time with others, whether it's my family, my friends, or new people I meet. I’m always curious about others and enjoy sharing stories, ideas, and laughs. Connecting with people is something that comes naturally to me, and I always try to bring a positive attitude wherever I go. I really like pets, mostly dogs but i like most animals, i am just a bit scared of snakes and spiders. I have a wide range of interests. One of my favorite things to do is play board games, especially with friends and family. I also really enjoy Star Wars, everything from the movies to the characters. LEGO is another passion of mine. I find it relaxing and creative to build, especially sets related to Star Wars or trains. Speaking of which, trains are one of my biggest interests. I’m fascinated by both real and miniature trains, and I love learning about their history, design, and mechanics, im really into firefighting too. History is another passion of mine, especially the Cold War period. I collect military memorabilia from that era, and I enjoy researching the stories behind them. This interest connects with one of my favorite activities: historical reenactment. I take part in events where we recreate specific periods of history, which I find both educational and incredibly fun. I also enjoy theater and acting, it gives me the chance to express myself, work with others, and gain confidence on stage. Besides these hobbies, I really love spending time outdoors. I often go hiking in the mountains and enjoy camping trips with friends or family. Being in nature is something that brings me peace and happiness. I also value spending time with my friends, whether we’re playing games, talking, or just hanging out, I always enjoy their company. At home, I live with my parents and my older brother, who is two years older than me. We have a close relationship, and I feel very lucky to have such a supportive family. We share many moments together, and I truly care about them. That’s one of the reasons I’m excited about the exchange experience, I look forward to becoming part of a new family and sharing everyday life together. My typical day starts around 7:00 in the morning. I go to school, come home in the early afternoon, take a short rest, then study and spend time on my hobbies. In the evening, I have dinner with my family, take a shower, and go to bed. It’s a simple routine, but it gives enought time for myself and for other things. One of the things I’m most excited about is discovering what American high school is really like. I’ve seen it in movies and TV shows, but I know that real life is much more interesting. I’d love to join school clubs or activities, meet new people, and experience what it’s like to be a student in the U.S. I’m also curious about everyday family life in America, your traditions, your routines, and even your meals. I’d love to participate in family activities and maybe even introduce you to a few things from Italian culture. I hope to be part of a host family that enjoys spending time together, talking, sharing meals, and maybe even playing a board game or watching a Star Wars movie once in a while! I’m respectful, open-minded, and always willing to help. I’d be so happy to contribute to family life and make this experience as rewarding as possible for both of us. Thank you again for considering hosting me. I hope to create amazing memories together. I look forward to meeting you.
Best regards
