Rubin
's Letter
Dear American Family,
My name is Rubin, I am 16 years old, and I live in a family consisting of 5 people: me, my sister, my parents, and my grandmother. I like spending time with my family doing various activities such as: playing card games, watching movies together, or having
conversations about different topics with them.
Apart from entertaining activities, I also have responsibilities at home since I am the oldest child. These include: keeping the house clean, preparing food for me and my sister to take to school, taking care of my grandmother, mowing the lawn in the hotter months, washing the car, etc. Considering all the responsibilities my parents have, I try to help out where I can around the house whenever I can.
Further, I have quite a few interests such as volleyball, table tennis, reading books, listening to music, training, and writing. Out of all the things listed above, I am most passionate about reading and writing, as they make most of my free time. As for volleyball and table tennis, I am interested in them, but not quite as good as I haven't gotten the opportunity to practice these sports as much, but in the future I look forward to improving my skills in them.
To continue, I have some great friends at my school with whom I spend a lot of my free time during the academic year and summer holidays. When we're together we either go to a cafe and chat with one another, stroll the roads of our town, or go for
bike rides. This last one we do most frequently during the summer as we have more time to spare and we just wander around. Our town is not a very big one and it is about half an hour by car from the city centre, but we all are happy in "our little home" and we all live in great harmony with each other. On the brighter side, being in a small town gives us the opportunity to be closer to one another and meet when we have free time.
As for my future aspirations, I am considering entering the path of studying medicine and maybe someday, with great work and determination, I will be able to achieve this dream and embed deep roots in this field.
Some more things about me are that I am always open to trying new things. I also love making new friends and getting to know other people's opinions and perspectives on different topics. I also must say that nature and animals, especially cats, have a very special place in my heart and I adore their uniqueness and diversity.
To conclude this letter I want to add that this exchange experience would be a great chance for me to get to know and cherish the cultural diversity in the U.S, by being able to meet new people and to bring to life valuable new friendships.
Best regards,
Rubin
