Dear Future Host Family,
My name is Milany, and I’m from Germany. I go to a bilingual school where I study in both German and English, and I’m so excited (and honestly a little nervous in the best way!) to be part of your family and experience daily life in the U.S.
Let me tell you a bit more about myself: I’d say I’m a mix of energetic and thoughtful. I love being around people and having fun, but I also really value meaningful conversations and moments where I can just take in new experiences. Music is my absolute passion—I sing all the time and I play most instruments too. Performing is a big part of who I am, whether it’s in theater productions, school concerts, or just singing with friends for fun. It’s my way of expressing myself.
Besides music, I’m also really into acting, dancing, and anything artistic or creative. I like to think outside the box and I’m not afraid to be a little silly sometimes—I believe life’s more fun that way. I love animals (I have a dog at home who I adore), and I’m always excited to meet new people and hear their stories. My friends would probably describe me as outgoing, loyal, and someone who brings good energy into a room.
At home, I’m pretty independent. I help out with chores, cook sometimes and try to be responsible in my daily life. I’m also really open to trying new things, whether that’s food, traditions, sports, or just different ways of doing things. That’s one of the biggest reasons I wanted to do this exchange program—to grow, learn, and see the world from a different perspective.
I’m really looking forward to being a part of your family—not just living with you, but actually sharing moments together, like family dinners, weekend outings, or even just hanging out at home. I’d love to get involved in your routines and traditions, help out however I can, and also share a bit of my own culture with you. I hope we can create real memories together and stay connected even after the program ends.
Thank you so much for opening your home to me. It means a lot, and I can’t wait to meet you all soon!
Warm wishes,
Milany
