Hello dear my future host family, I'm Ghina. I'd glad to tell you about my favorite activity with my family. Our family really love to eat, so whenever our birthday coming the only way to celebrate it is just go to a nice restaurant. Fun fact, we didn't really like sweet food like a birthday cake. In my house I live with my second older brother and my mother. My first brother was born in 1997 and already married. My father live separated away from us due his work, and my parents got divorced since I was little but only in a religion way (not legally divorced). In my house I have responsibility to sweep the floor every morning, cook rice, and do the laundry but sometimes I also do the dishes. Even though I live with my brother, he is busy with his work. We rarely gather aroundbecause we're all have our own things. My mom is a teacher and she has to ride a motorbike for 1 hour because her workplace is far away. But I often hang out with my mom just to find good food in weekend. Me and my mom are enjoying art such as traditional dance and music. Indonesia have so many traditional dance, both of us always excited to watch the performance of it. Their costume, makeup and dance style is very unique. If there is a cultural festival in our city, we always come and enjoy it. Even though I can't dance, I truly appreciate their hard work. The funny thing is we once go to a rock music competition, I don't enjoy much but it's interesting! Last but not least, we also love to go to the night market. I sometimes returning back home late because of my organization activity. I participating in organization called class representative assembly, it is different from student council. Class representative assembly must be present in every class, at least 1 person. Our job is also different. My organization is for convey aspirations from all school residents including teacher and staff to school. We also have the job to supervising and helping the performance of the student council. In educational units, the class representative assembly occupy the highest hierarchy in the organization. In school I have a friend group that contains 5 people on it. Actually it is not that easy for me to get along with someone. I am an observer type and usually have to know first if they are good for me or we have the same jokes or not because some people might think I am a freak. But once I started to rely on them, I'll always be there beside them. One of our favorite activity is go to the canteen. I can tell that I spent most of my money in food. Back then, when I was in junior high school I have 8 people in my friend group. Yes, it is a lot of people but I still have to thank to them for making me who I am today. They are such an intelligent also unique people. They always support every step I take, they scream for me, they are the one who's gonna proud of me. I'm not telling them yet about I get into national selection of YES, but I'm pretty sure they will support me whatever path I choose. Our favorite activity is just gather around. We can share anything in our mind without getting afraid because no one will judge us. I enjoy learning new language even though I'm still bad at it. I am also an art enjoyer, sometimes I write to relief my stress including writing a poetry. I only did that whenever I clearly do not know how to express my emotions, only once in a month. I also love to watch movies especially cartoon. My favorite cartoon is Sofia the First. Although now it's very rare, but my town used to be a freshwater dolphin habitat. My city has one of the longest rivers in Indonesia. One of my dream is to be in a quality control team. I found food is interesting and everyone deserve to get good and tasty food. If you remember, I once mentioned that my family didn't like sweet food but I really don't like too sweet food. I prefer savory dessert and I couldn't eat a sweet main course, I could have little a headache if I force my self. For me, YES is the key to get one of my dream comes true but what I really want to gain from this program is about the secret of USA being the most powerful in this world, is it because the people? government? I really wanna know and how. I also want to know about American culture and art. Just like what I've said before, art provides peace in my life. I may be not good in painting, dancing and making a music but I found it interesting. I wanna thank to all of the artist in this world for making everyone's day happy even though life is hard. I want to visit American art museum or art exhibition. I also want to give back to my community. I want to bring the braveness to speak English towards my friends and environment, so that they could have opportunities more than me, just like what YES did to me. Ghina
