Dear host family, My name is Mirre and I’m from the Netherlands. I would describe myself as outgoing, social and spontaneous. I like meeting new people and going places I have never been. But I can also appreciate some time alone every now and then, where I can listen to music or read a book. I live together with my parents and my older brother. Even though my brother studies in a different city and my parents have busy jobs, I never get lonely at my house. I can invite my friends over anytime, and we have two dogs and two cats. When my mom has free time I love to hang out with her. We like going to the beach with the dogs, baking cookies or just relaxing at home, watching grey's anatomy. During the summer, my friends and I like to go outside and play basketball or soccer. Or we ride our bikes or the horses and go to the beach or to the woods. When it's colder we organise game nights, listen to music and cook our favourite meals. I bike to school every day, just like every other student in the netherlands. My favourite subject in school is French, because I'm good at it and I like my teacher. Most of my teachers are very nice and I have never had any trouble with them. When I’m older I would also like to be a teacher. I like working with kids and I already have some experience from my job at an indoor playground. One of the reasons I want to go to the US is because when my parents were younger they also lived in a different country. They have told me that they learned a lot from it and they made memories for life. That is why they encouraged me to do the same and I immediately knew where I wanted to go. Living in the US has always been a dream of mine so choosing which country I wanted to go to was very easy. I am looking forward to meeting you and I hope to see you soon.
