Christin
's Letter
Dear Host Family,
Iām Christin, and I grew up in a family with an older sister and a bigger brother. My sister Linda is 1.5 years older than me, and my brother Jonas is almost 5 years older. Until I was 10, we always lived above my grandmotherās house. Then, my parents separated, and we moved into an apartment below some friends of ours. After a year, we moved in with my grandmother from my mom again because our friends were renovating the apartment for themselves. During that time, my mother was already building our current house. Weāve now been living in this house for almost 3 years. Iāve set up my room and am quite happy with it now. For Christmas, I received a TV. My brother and his friends helped me set up the wardrobe and place the TV. That was just a little part of my life, but of course, thatās not everything. I also have a few hobbies. Iāve been playing handball for several years and, for the past few years, Iāve also been playing the flute in a marching Show band. These are the two hobbies I do most. If you were to ask me what I would prefer to do, I would always choose handball. Despite the fact that handball is one of the sports with a fairly high injury risk, I think itās a pretty cool sport. In this game, Iāve found many of my closest friends. As I mentioned, I play the flute, and I play it in a band. However, it doesnāt always feel like a band; it feels more like a big family. Everyone gets along well, and if you need help, you can just ask. I also work once a month at a senior center, where I sell coffee and cake to the residents and guests. A little more regularly, I coach the E-youth in handball. Iāve been coaching the ālittle ones,ā ages 9-10, for almost two seasons now. In the first season, we trained with three people, and in the second one, we were a team of four. In my free time, Iām quite busy, but I often meet with my friends. With my family, we often play board games or watch a movie in the evening. I also like to watch movies by myself now and then. I actually enjoy almost everything, except for horror, because I always think that you can already tell whatās going to happen. But I think thatās enough about me and my life.
Best regards from Germany,āØChristin
