Dear Host Family,
Thank you so much for giving the chance to participate in the Ayusa exchange program and hosting me as a member of your family.
I was born in Japan, but my father is German and my mother is Spanish and we live altogether in Germany, where I am visiting the nineth grade at high school. Last summer, we did a trip to the US, visiting Las Vegas, San Francisco, Gran Canyon NP, Arches NP, Bryce NP and many other great places. I loved it there and soon I started thinking about going on an exchange program in the USA to spend more time learning about the American culture.
I enjoy playing sports, such as basketball or going to the gym. I speak three different languages, German, Spanish and English and I am looking forward to improving my English skills during the time in the US. I do enjoy very much meeting friends and going out, but I also like to spend time at home and relax and I am very much looking forward to experiencing new things with my host family. That is one of the things that makes an exchange a great experience: trying things, I have not done before. It would be great, if you had a dog or animals at home as I am a very pet friendly person. I also like to cook and I would be very happy to prepare some Spanish and German food together.
My dad works as a consultant for an international company. My mom was working for many years in an automotive company and decided to become a full-time teacher at a school 4 years ago. My older brother is two years older than me and will finish school this summer. I think we are a close family and spend a lot of time together. We own a house in Spain at the seaside and spend there as much time as possible, especially the summer vacation. My grandparents live in Spain and I like seeing them from time to time there.
After returning from the exchange program, I will have two more years to finish my high school. I have not decided yet what to study afterwards, but taking my international background, I would love to work abroad in an international environment.
I am excited to be able to travel to the US and become a member of a new family for some months and take with me a lot of good memories and good moments with you.
Warm Regards,
Daniel
