Dear American Family, Hi! I'm Ali. I'm 15 years old. I'm from Turkiye. I live in a small city where we don't have much opportunities but im trying to find a way to change this by starting new projects with what i have in hand. I live in a small family with my two sisters, my mom and my dad. I love traveling with my family because we all love seeing different places. I also love playing board games with my family. At home i am responsible for keeping my room and shared areas clean and taking care of my siblings. Besides that i sometimes cook meals. I am a person with a prominent artistic personality. I play violin, im good at drawing and i really love writing. Most of times i write fairy tales and essays. I sometimes play badminton too. Besides those i love hanging out with my friends. I love talking with my friends because i really value different opinions and all of my friends are respectful people so i dont feel afraid to talk my opinions out with them because i know they won't judge me for what i think and give me different opinions about the topic. I believe that talking with them about different subjects really improves my thinking methods which is one of the main reasons why i love talking with them. I also have international friends and we love talking about each others cultures for example we sometimes exchange traditional recipes with each other and talk about each others lifestyles. If i had to talk about my future i would say that i still haven't decided about what to be in the future but i would like to study psychology or art yet as i said im still not sure about any of those. However if i know one thing its that im going to be respectful towards peoples opinions, their religions, to their emotions and their ways of living at all times. I would like my host family to know that i can adapt to them in any situations and i would be happy to do so. I don't like arguing i like talking things out and learning whats behind peoples actions and words which is one of the main reasons why i love psychology. Im a social person so i love participating in social activities and managing social projects to meet with new people. I even have a project going on in my school which im managing. In this project we are going to visit nursing homes, shelters, the school of people with special abilities and places like those. In my exchange year with my host family, i would like to see how they apply their cultures into their lives and experience ii with them i would like to try various different tastes and see different lives. I would like this exchange year to be a year that i can improve myselfs in lots of ways. For example i would like to start learning a new instrument if i have the chance or maybe start learning a new language and improve my english. Other then those i would really like to experience a halloween season and make my own costume with my host family. I really believe this year will be unforgettable and full emotions and i believe my host family will help me with those goals. Ali
