's Letter

Hello my Future Host Family, Thank you very much for reading my letter! I am really excited about the chance to spend my exchange year with you, to learn about your life, and to get to know American culture. I think it will be a very special time for me to try new things, see new places, and meet new people. A little bit about me: I live in Germany in a small town with my parents, my younger sister, my older brother, and our dog Karlo. Karlo is five years old and very playful. My family is important to me, and we like to spend time together โ€” cooking, walking with the dog, or watching movies. I have a small group of close friends โ€” we are five girls, and we know each other for many years. We always help each other and have a lot of fun together. One of my hobbies is cooking and baking. I like to try new recipes and share the food with my family and friends. Another big hobby is karate. I have done karate for seven years now, and it has taught me discipline, confidence, and how to stay calm in difficult situations. I also like to work with children. My dream is to become a primary school teacher one day. First I want to finish my Abitur in Germany, and then I will study education at university. Helping kids learn and grow is something that makes me happy. I speak German and English, and I am learning French. My French is not perfect yet, but I keep practicing. I am very curious about the differences between the German and American school systems. I am looking forward to experiencing school life in the US โ€” the classes, the teachers, the sports, and maybe joining some clubs. I am also excited to see traditions like Thanksgiving and Halloween, and maybe share some German traditions with you too. In my free time I like going for walks, listening to music, playing board games, and taking photos. I also enjoy being outside, swimming in summer, riding my bike, or just relaxing in the sun. Thank you again for thinking about me as part of your family for my exchange year. I hope we can make nice memories together โ€” from normal days at home to special moments and celebrations. I canโ€™t wait to meet you and share this year with you. Warm regards, Klara
