Hello Dear Host Family,
My name is Ahmet Emir, and I'm 15 years old.
I'm a student from Turkey.
I study at 11th grade at highschool.
I'm a blind person but I don't think being visually impaired restricts me to do anything.
I like to develope my self at every point for being into life.
I try to solve my problems my own as I can and I don't hesitate to ask for help when I need.
I'm very excited for the chance to join your family!
I love computers, and my goal is to become a software engineer in the future.
I took lessons about software development. I stuided python and jawascript. I went to courses for developing my self.
Since I'm visually impaired, I dream to develope software that makes life easier for people like me.
In my life, I solve my problems with computer programs most of the time.
But I want them to develope more, because we, blind people, needs that.
I believe at crowded areas like school, outdoor areas, malls we need better software sources to get better independent abilities.
And I will work for that abilities to develope in my future.
I live in city of Turkey.
The city is known for important places like which honors the memory of our founding leader.
At my home, I enjoy spending time with my family.
We like to watch movies together, talking about our day and with my father we love watching soccer.
My duties at home are little but I try to help my family at any point whenever they need.
Like keeping my room clean and helping my mother in the kitchen when needed.
Also I'm in to sports.
I'm a licensed Goalball player.
Goalball is a game for visually impaired people, played with a ball with bells inside and you need to score by rolling the ball in to opponent side basicly.
At the sametime with playing Goalball, I work with a coach for three hours per week to stay fit.
Actually I wanted to go gym at first but here's gyms are not suitable for blinds.
Because of that I work with a coach.
Also listening music and reading fantasy books are some of my free time activities.
I really like fantasy books. When I begin to read a fantasy book, I don't care how much time passed, i just dive deep and deeper in fantastical worlds.
I like to dream about other worlds, I like to dream about science fiction. I'm always curious about future and I never let my brain stop imagine.
And musics, I love musics. While doing almost everything I listen a music at background, like doing my homework, doing sports, preparing something, cleaning ...
I love hanging out with my friends, I love an environment filled with friends and I'm always open to get new friends.
I love chatting with them, sharing my ideas and learn their ideas. That helps me to grow up.
In the future, I hope to make contributions to accessibility part.
I want to contribute by creating software that helps visually impaired people as I mentioned.
My aim is to solve all problems in our life with software based solutions.
I'm open to learn about different cultures.
I highly believe this exchange program will be a big step for achieving my goals for the future and will help me to develope my personality.
I want you to know that I'm an adaptable, friendly, curious and open minded person. I respetc people's ideas and try to learn new things from every single person I met.
I'm very excited to be a part of your family.
I'm sure we will have good time together, and we we will create unforgettable memories.
I'm also excited about sharing my cultural differents with you and learn about your traditions and life style.
With this exchange experience, I hope to improve my English, make nice friendships, and learn about America, American culture, see the facilities for blind and see how do visually impaired people work in america.
I believe this opportunity will help me to improve my personality, learn new things, discover new things and develope my academical skills.
Thank you so much for considering me for this opportunity.
I can't wait the day that I will meet you.
Warm regards,
Ahmet Emir
