Dear American Family,
Hello, my name is Mohammad, and I am both thrilled and nervous to be writing to you. I am 15 years old, and I come from Lebanon. I have loving parents and two older brothers, and although they are both older than me, we share a very close bond built on love, support, and trust. In our free time, we always take the chance to spend time together, whether it was by going swimming, playing card games, or just sitting together to talk. It was always enjoyable and as I believe time well-spent.
English and Mathematics are my favorite subjects, and I excel in both. I find both subjects interesting, and I take pleasure in the challenge of solving math problems. I love learning English because it is a common language spoken among diverse cultures, andI am eager to improve my language skills during my exchange year. In addition to academics, I have a variety of hobbies that I ampassionate about. Volunteering with my local scout group is one of my favorite activities. It is an opportunity to give back to my community, and it feels rewarding to help others. I also like reading interesting and mysterious as they allow me to dive into new worlds and help me recover from a hectic day.
My friends, who are also my biggest supporters, have always been there to make me smile during both my highs and lows. Together, we enjoy participating in a variety of fun activities. One of our favorite things to do is playing basketball in the park. It is
a great way to stay active, and it always brings out our competitive side. Sometimes, we meet up to watch movies and share our thoughts about them afterward. We also enjoy exploring the outdoors, especially on weekends where we visit new places in our area an. It is always an adventure to try something new, for these experiences help us grow closer as friends and foster longlasting memories.
When it comes to food, my favorite dishes are pasta and burgers. I also try to maintain a balanced diet to stay healthy. As a Muslim, I would feel uncomfortable if my host parents were to consume alcohol during my stay. I hope this is not an issue, and I would be happy to try new plates that align with my religion.
At home, I have responsibilities like helping with household chores and making sure my personal space is organized. I enjoy contributing to keeping our home clean, and I am used to being independent and taking care of my own things. I am excited to
bring that same responsibility with me during my time with you.
Lebanon, where I am from, is a beautiful country full of life, history, and diverse landscapes. I love living here, where resilience is one of our top qualities. Lebanon is a wonderland filled with greenery and interesting sculptures.
When I grow up, I want to become either a general practitioner or a pilot. I have always been interested in helping people and making a positive impact on my community, which is why being a doctor appeals to me. Also, I have always had a fascination with flying, so becoming a pilot is another dream of mine. Either career would allow me to travel, meet new people, and contribute in meaningful ways to society.
I hope that by now you have a better sense of who I am. I am excited to join your family and experience life in a new place. Thank you so much for considering hosting me.
Warm Regards,
Mohammad
