Dear American Family,
Hi! Hope you're doing well! My name is Mohamed. I'm currently a 10th grader in high school. I love robotics, volunteering, and watching TV shows. My family is composed of 6 members: my father, Mounir, a sports teacher my mother, Fathia, a history and geography teacher, my sister Nour, an engineer in Berlin, my sister Mariem, an engineering student in another city in Tunisia and finally, there's me and my cat Milou, he's a part of the family. On weekends, we enjoy movie nights together or going out to dinner. During summer, we spend time at our vacation home on an island, where we go for picnics, visit the beach, and enjoy the nights out.
At home, we share responsibilities. I'm responsible for cleaning my bedroom, making the bed, and organizing my desk. On weekends, I sometimes help my mom with cleaning, and I cook when she's busy or working, besides I wash the dishes once or
twice a week.
Moving on to my interests, I've always been interested in volunteering where I'm able to watch people's life change to the better, which is why I joined an Interact Club in seventh grade. This has helped me make friends and develop many skills. I'm also
interested in robotics, so I joined a club this year where I'm taking a Rev Robotics class there I enjoy creating the robot from scratch. I also enjoy my English FCE class, where I made many friends and improved my English skills. Recently, I recently joined
a local MUN club, because I wanted to involve more in diplomacy and debating. Other than these activities, I enjoy listening to music, watching movies, and sometimes reading books.
Outside my family, I have a close group of seven friends. We're more like family; we go out together on weekends to restaurants or meet at each other's houses. We're all members in the same Interact Club, so we see each other there. We trust one another, and I rely on them.
Now let me tell you a bit about my city. It's located on Tunisia's east coast it's a blend between old and new. It's large, with a rich history and culture, from delicious food and the old medina with its traditional markets to modern buildings and shops. Trust me, you wouldn't regret visiting it.
When I heard about the YES program, I began researching studying in the USA. Now, I dream of pursuing my studies there and hope to earn a scholarship to a top United States university to study engineering, for their strong programs full of opportunities. As for my future career I'm passionate about doing a startup or working in a good company abroad or in Tunisia.
Now that I told you my goals, let me tell you more about myself. I'm open-minded, value my relationships with family and friends, enjoy helping people who need it, and am organized and hardworking, I get exited about visiting new places and trying new things.
During my stay in the US, I want to discover the culture, improve my English, learn how to adapt to new environments also make friends from all around the world and experience the American educational system I also want to take new classes to widen my knowledge and finally gain more awards and experience in diffrent subjects.
Finally I wanted to say thank you all for what your doing it's changing other's lives and that I'm super excited to meet every one of you and I'm thankful for welcoming me your home.
Best Regards
Mohamed
