Heyyy I’m Maja but before I introduce myself, let me just say this: your family might be the reason my biggest dream is finally beginning.
First of all I wanna thank you for giving me the opportunity to fulfill my dream of becoming an exchange student in the USA. Having a good match is really important which is why I wanna tell you about me and my life.
I’m a really positive and sarcastic person but I know when to stop and I’m respectful. I love getting ready like doing my makeup and my hair and outfits, I always crack jokes and most of the time you will see me smiling ,laughing or listening to music. I like almost every genre but most of all I like late night car rides while blasting music. I do need time to myself though because sometimes my social battery just runs out. And we all know that sometimes you just wanna chill hahah:) to be honest I am not really the tidiest person but I am working on it and I am really improving!! But of course I will help with household chores. At home my chores are cleaning up after myself, doing the dishes and walking our dog Luna. I also love traveling and experiencing new things. Even though I was born in winter I would consider myself as a summer person. I enjoy warm weather and being outside for example in the garden.
My friends and family would describe me as a spontaneous, loving, grateful, funny and honest person. These people are very dear to me. After school I often go to my best friend and we hangout, go shopping or we go to concerts. My mom is like my best friend and we have a really close relationship, I can tell her everything. Growing up it was just me, my grandparents (I also have a very very close relationship with them) and my mom. My moms best friend has a little daughter and I treat her like my own sister.
At first I can be a little shy but i warm up quickly. I’m hoping we could create a similar bond cause I am a family person. What sounds good to me are family activities like cooking together, playing games, going out or even just chilling and of course talking to each other.
But why do I wanna do an exchange year?
As a kid I always saw films of American Highschools but that dream just seemed too far away. I then discovered YouTube videos of exchange students in the us and from then on I knew that that was gonna be me someday. I loved that everything is so different and new. The Highschool (spirit) and colleges, homecoming, prom, sport, the places to eat and shop and even the language. These are also things that im looking forward to. I would love to go to a typical American Highschool (the football games, special subjects et.) and experience the dances. To attend a sports game (Highschool, college or pro level). I’m really into sports, at home I play competitive volleyball for my club and love it so much, and would love to know more about new and different sports and I think the US has a lot to offer.
Thank you so so much for looking through my application and for considering to host me.
Can’t wait to meet you in summer 26!!!
Best wishes
Maja
