Dear future Host Family, I'm Leah from Germany and I would love for you to get to know me better thru this letter. Hopefully, I will get to know you too someday. To start with, I would love to tell you about my hobbies. I've been playing guitar with another boy, who is about my age since -four years. We have practice every Friday and It's been really great seeing the progress we've both been making. Another hobby of mine is playing Volleyball. I started playing about 5 months ago with one of my best friends and since then we've been having training twice a week. Since I haven't been playing for such a long time I know I'm not that good yet but learning different things every week has been a big motivation for me to keep going. I'm really grateful that me and my friend started it together because going with her is twice as much fun for me. Another motivation for me is my family because they've supported me the whole time. My family contains my mom, dad and my little brother. In general, my family is really important to me and I would say we have a really close relationship, which is something I would love to have with my host-family too! I can tell both of my parents anything and my bond with my brother is really strong, which makes me really happy. Our age gap of 4 years made it a little bit harder to find similar interest but now he's old enough to have serious conversations and that bonds us even more. My grandma, who lives in the same small village as me is also really important to me, also because she used to watch out for me and my little brother twice a week when we were younger. Now that we are old enough to watch out for ourselves I don't see her as much anymore but she is still very important to me. Now that we are older, me and my brother of course also have to help more with all the chores around the house, for example by vacuuming, unloading the dishwasher or going for walks with our dog Cooper, which we got around four years ago. When living with a host-family, I know that I would do these of other chores as well because, in my view, you also have to do things you don't like as much to really become a member of the family. A member of a family is something I would love to be because I think everything is at least twice as good when you can share it or talk about it with people that matter to you. I'm hoping that me and my host-family will be sharing many memories, activities and much more. Being all alone in a foreign country without my family for that long is a new experience for me, so it is really important to me that I find people, like my host family that feel like home and I hope that they will feel as valued by me as I already value my future host-family. I am very very thankful for my host family, so maybe also you, for letting me stay with them, sharing their life with me and showing me the American traditions, so all in all letting my dream come true.
