's Letter
Dear future host family,
I’m Amy from Germany and I hope you will get to know me better through this letter. I will begin with telling you about my hobby's. I play soccer since about three years now and I really enjoy being a part of such a loving team like mine. To stay fit I also started to go the gym twice a week this year. Another hobby of mine is going to a Christian youth group every Friday evening. Through this group I found many new friends and improved my relationship with god, which is very important to me. Besides my hobby's I have a lot of other interests, like listening to music, meeting my friends or reading books. I also love to travel and one of my life goals is to see as much of the world as possible. I’ve been to many countries in Europe, for example Greece, Italy, France or Spain. Unfortunately I never traveled out of Europe, so I’m looking forward to my year abroad in the USA. I’m very grateful that my family also enjoys to see the world and travel. Do you like to travel?
My family contains my father, my mother and my little sister. I have a really strong bond with them and can tell them basically everything, which I’m very happy about. My younger sister is currently 12 years old and since we are older we luckily have more common interests and I really enjoy spending time with her. My parents are also very loving and caring and I’m so grateful to have a family like that. I hope I will have such an good relationship with my host family, so maybe you, too. I’m hoping to get the chance to do some family activities with you, for example cooking together. Even if I’m not the best cook, I could try to teach you some typical German dishes. I know that in a family you also must help in the household, for example by putting laundry, doing the dishes or vacuuming.
To give you a better insight into my life, I will tell you about my friends. I have two best friends, whom I know since the first grade. We’re doing nearly everything together and they’re somehow my second family. I have also many other good friends and I got to know them very differently, most of them I meet through school, soccer or church. I’m thankful for everyone and it will be hard to say goodbye. It will also be difficult to say goodbye to my pets, we have four chickens, two rabbits and one hamster, named Travis. Do you also love animals? For you to get to know me better, here is a little bit more about my character. I would describe myself as very open to new things and supporting. I think that I’m a pretty social person, who can connect with people well. I hope you will get to know me even better soon and thank you for reading my little letter.
I’m looking forward to hearing from you!
Love, Amy
