Dear Host Family,
My name is R., and I’m 16 years old, born under the Pisces zodiac sign. I describe myself as imaginative, outgoing, curious, and creative. I enjoy learning new things, solving problems, and adapting to new situations. These qualities help me handle challenges and learn from mistakes.
I live in Piedmont, Italy, in a small town surrounded by fields and nature. My family is very important to me. I have an older sister, G, a nurse, and a younger brother who is passionate about basketball. My parents are both very busy—my mother runs a catering business, and my father travels often for work. We spend most of our time together on weekends. I am fortunate to live near my paternal grandparents and cousins, with whom I share a close bond.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family. My dad is passionate about the mountains, and we often go hiking or running together. I also enjoy listening to music, and I recently received a record player for my birthday, which I love using. Traveling is another passion that my parents have passed on to me. Every year, we organize family trips to different destinations, capturing memories with photos and creating albums to remember the places we’ve visited.
I am in my third year of high school, studying the scientific track with a focus on computer science. While challenging, I find this track well-suited to my skills and interests. Among my favorite subjects are philosophy and religion, which encourage deep thinking and reflection. Although I don’t practice a specific sport at the moment, I enjoy staying active by working out at home, running, and doing weight exercises. Physical activity gives me a sense of well-being, which I value.
Music is one of my greatest passions, and it accompanies me throughout the day, whether I am at home, at school, or in my free time. I also enjoy being creative by making small projects, such as decorations for my room or birthday gifts. Reading is another passion of mine, and when I find a book I like, I can finish it in one day.
I have a close group of friends, particularly my best friend, M., whom I’ve known since kindergarten. She is very important to me, and we share a strong bond, supporting each other through good times and challenges.
A typical day for me starts with school, where I attend classes and socialize with friends during breaks. After school, I prepare lunch, take a break, and then do my homework. I often work out or go for a run before dinner. In the evenings, I either relax by watching a movie, listening to music, or talking to my friends. I enjoy unwinding by reading before bed.
I am excited about the opportunity to join your family and experience a new culture. I believe this experience will be rewarding both academically and personally, and I am eager to learn and grow through it. Thank you for considering my application.
Kind regards,
R.
