Dear family,
I am really happy to write to you to help you get to know me better.
If I had to describe myself in one word, I would say that I am a normal girl, in the best sense of the word. My character adapts to the situations and people in front of
me: sometimes I am extroverted and I love to talk, especially with adults; other times I can seem more introverted if I don't feel immediately at ease. I don't consider
myself a leader, but I like to collaborate with others. I am creative, in the past I loved to draw (I can't consider myself Van Gogh but in my opinion I drew quite well)
and I always try to think in an original way.
Among my strengths, I would say that I am empathetic: I understand other people's emotions and I always try to help those around me. I am also very honest, so
much so that I can't even cheat in card games! Another important aspect is my responsibility: since I was 12 years old I have taken care of my younger sister, and
this has taught me a lot about patience and affection.
Speaking of flaws, sometimes I can be impatient, but I have learned to manage it thanks to my sister. I'm also a little anxious, because I always want to give my best
in everything I do. Some call me a pessimist, but I prefer to see myself as a realist: I face difficulties with awareness, without too many illusions.
My family is made up of my parents, my older brother and my little sister. I have a good relationship with my parents, although he is a little more distant with my
father because he is very protective. With my mother, on the other hand, I talk about everything, especially when she needs to vent after a day at work.
My brother and I had ups and downs growing up, but today we get along better and I am grateful for his advice. My sister is still little and for now we are very close,
although I know that as she grows she could distance herself a little. For this reason, I try to create good memories with her now that I can.
My school and my interests:
I attend a high school of human sciences with an economic-social focus, so I study psychology, philosophy, law and economics. I don't have a favorite subject, but I
really like philosophy, because it shows different ways of seeing the world (even if it's complicated), and psychology, because it helps to understand human
behavior and how society works. I also like math because it's like solving a puzzle and getting to the solution gives you a sense of satisfaction.
In my free time I dedicate myself to different activities. I don't read much but I do it especially when I find a book that I'm passionate about. I used to draw, but now
I have less time to do it because of school. To keep fit I do pilates at home and I like walking outdoors, since my city is surrounded by countryside. In the past I used
to play volleyball because I love team sports, but due to some injuries I had to stop.
My typical day are quite simple: in the morning I go to school, then I come home at 2pm, I have lunch and I study for the rest of the afternoon. If I have free time, I go
out with friends, I work out or I spend time with my sister. I have dinner early around 6-7 pm and it is early compared to Italian times and then I study again until 11
pm maximum, then before going to bed I relax with a book or the phone.
I am really excited about the idea of living this year abroad and I can't wait to meet you! I know that hosting me is a great responsibility and I am immensely
grateful for this opportunity. I hope to become part of your family and share many unforgettable experiences with you.
Thank you so much for your time and for choosing me.
