Dear Host Family, First, I want to thank you for hosting me for 5 months! I care deeply about this experience, and thanks to your hospitality, I will get to know a new culture, build important relationships with new people, and make the most of my time with you, creating a long-lasting bond that I will remember for the rest of my life! I’m eager to learn more about who you are and to share things about myself. I would like to be part of this experience because I’ve always been very ambitious about my future. I'd love to become a High School professor after university! I believe this experience is incredibly important from many perspectives, especially on the emotional side. Finally, my big dream of going on this adventure is now becoming possible! I’m a very open-minded person and adaptable to many situations. I know how to be more responsible when the situation needs it. I also tend to be playful, empathetic, and kind toward others. My friends say I’m very good at listening and offering advice when needed. I have many passions, but, among them, two of the most important for me are motorcycles and music. I’m very passionate about motorcycles because, in addition to owning one myself, many of my friends share this passion. As for music, I see it as a way to express my personality, to connect with people who have similar music taste, to appreciate time and to broaden my view of the world. I love hanging out with my friends, it doesn’t matter where, if I’m with the people I care about. That said, we often meet in the main square of my city, and shortly afterward, we sit in a café we usually go to. It’s a very common thing for young people in Italy! Another one of my many passions is swimming. I enjoy it a lot, not only because I’ve built a beautiful relationship with my coach and teammates, but also because it keeps me fit and active. Occasionally, I also like to chill on the sofa. What about you? What are your passions? I’d love to experience them with you, and, if you’re interested, I’d be happy to share with you some of mine! As for my family, we are four, although I prefer to say we are five because I believe my wonderful 9-year-old dog, Konan, is also a member of our family! Do you have any pets? I’d love to know more about your family as well. My mom’s name is Manola, and she works as an elementary school teacher. She knows how to be kind but firm, so she’s a bit strict but fair. My dad’s name is Giancarlo, he runs a small business in my city where he sells doors and windows. He’s kind and generous but can also be strict when necessary. They are both wonderful parents! Finally, I have a 19-year-old sister named Valeria. She’s studying at university while also working. We are very close and care for each other a lot, even though we sometimes argue over the usual little things that siblings fight about. We have many things in common, like certain behaviors and several facial resemblances, which we are often happy about. Every year, we go as a family to Sicily to visit my paternal grandparents for a few weeks. I find it to be a wonderful time to bond as a family and create beautiful memories together, and it also allows me to catch up with friends I don’t see often. What do you usually do as a family?
